Trekfarer™ is a travel planning and memory application designed to help users plan trips, record places they have visited, organize itineraries, save photographs and travel memories, and remember their journeys.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Trekfarer™ may access, how that information is used, and the choices available to you.
Information You Provide
Trekfarer™ allows you to voluntarily enter information such as:
- Travel memories and place names
- Dates associated with memories and trips
- Notes and descriptions
- Ratings and favorites
- Trip and itinerary information
- Packing-list information
- Photographs that you choose to add
- Addresses and locations associated with places or trips
This information is provided voluntarily by you through the application.
Location Information
Trekfarer™ may request access to your device's location when you use location-based features, such as identifying your current location or adding a place based on where you are.
Location access is controlled through your Android device permissions. You may deny or revoke location permission through your device settings.
Photos
Trekfarer™ allows you to select photographs from your device and attach them to travel memories and places.
Trekfarer™ does not require access to your entire photo library. Photos are selected by you using Android's photo/document selection features.
Photo references used by the application are stored locally on your device. Trekfarer™ does not operate a remote photo storage service.
Google Maps and Places
Trekfarer™ uses Google Maps and Google Places services to provide mapping, place-search, and location-related functionality.
Your use of these services may be subject to Google's applicable privacy policies and terms.
Weather Information
Trekfarer™ may use the Open-Meteo weather service to provide weather information associated with trips and destinations.
Weather requests may include geographic information necessary to provide the requested forecast.
Sharing
Trekfarer™ provides optional sharing features that allow you to share travel memories or itineraries through applications available on your device, including social media applications.
Sharing is initiated by you. Once information is shared with another application or service, that service's privacy policy governs its use of the information.
Local Storage
Trekfarer™ stores your travel information locally on your device. This may include memories, trips, itineraries, favorites, packing lists, addresses, and references to photographs.
Trekfarer™ does not require you to create a Trekfarer account or sign in to use the application's core features.
Backup and Restore
Trekfarer™ provides an optional backup and restore feature. Backup information is generated from data stored by the application on your device and is handled by you through the Android sharing/file system.
You are responsible for choosing where an exported backup is stored or shared. Information contained in a backup may therefore be subject to the privacy and security practices of the storage or sharing service you choose.
Information We Do Not Sell
Trekfarer™ does not sell your personal information.
Trekfarer™ does not operate an advertising network and does not use your travel memories to serve targeted advertising.
Data Retention and Deletion
Because Trekfarer™ stores core travel information locally on your device, you can delete individual memories, trips, itinerary items, favorites, photographs, and other stored information through the application where those controls are provided.
You may also remove application data or uninstall Trekfarer™ through Android device settings. Removing application data or uninstalling the application may permanently remove locally stored information that has not been backed up.
Data Security
Trekfarer™ is designed to keep core travel information on your device rather than operating a Trekfarer cloud database.
No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should protect your device and any exported backups using appropriate security measures.
Children's Privacy
Trekfarer™ is not directed specifically toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a Trekfarer account or registration system.
Third-Party Services
Trekfarer™ uses third-party services necessary to provide certain features, including mapping, place search, and weather information. These services may process information according to their own privacy policies.
Relevant third-party services may include Google Maps Platform, Google Places, and Open-Meteo.
